To mark Testicular Cancer Awareness Month, Nationwide Platforms has partnered with The OddBalls Foundation to deliver 10 educational talks at depots across the UK, from Glasgow to Southampton.

To ensure the important message reached as many employees as possible, Nationwide Platforms also hosted a virtual session of the talks, available to the entire workforce.

Nationwide Platforms is also supporting OddBalls with a £1,000 donation to aid the work they do across the nation.

The OddBalls Foundation, founded in 2015, is the UK’s leading charity for raising awareness of Testicular Cancer. The foundation delivers roughly 1,000 talks per year and has visited close to 7,500 sites in the past five years.

The talks took the form of informal but educational conversations about Testicular Cancer, a condition 2,400 men in the UK are diagnosed with every year*. OddBalls’ talks focused on how to catch it early, providing tips for self-checking and explaining how to break down the stigma surrounding men’s health.

“Our talks are a great opportunity to deliver important information to men of all ages and backgrounds, helping ensure that testicular cancer is caught early so that it can be treated more efficiently,” said Kieran Kelly, General Manager at OddBalls. “We appreciate the chance to collaborate with a company like Nationwide Platforms, whose large presence throughout the UK has allowed us to reach people in many different regions.”

Karen Maguire, HR Director at Nationwide Platforms, said, “Looking after our colleagues is central to how we support wellbeing at Nationwide Platforms, and raising awareness around self‑care and men’s health is an important part of that commitment. We’d like to thank The OddBalls Foundation for supporting our teams and helping to increase awareness of testicular cancer, and we hope our donation will make a positive contribution to their ongoing work.”
