Van mounted access platforms offer a safe and mobile solution to tasks such as highway maintenance, telecommunications and street lighting where other powered access solutions such as scissor lifts and traditional cherry pickers are not suitable. Van mounts are commonly used in sign installations, external painting and roof repairs.
A van mounted cherry picker is as the name suggests an access platform mounted on a van. As these cherry pickers are built on existing van platforms, they are perfect for working in urban and city areas. The telescopic booms of cherry picker vans can reach up to 17m and offer a quick and efficient method of moving and positioning a work platform on streets and other public locations. Van mounts deploy legs for increased stability before the platform is raised.
Another advantage of van mounted MEWPs (mobile elevating work platforms) is the storage space you get within the van for tools and materials which is an advantage over truck mounted cherry pickers.
The IPAF 1b Static Boom course trains operators to set up and operate a static boom, such as a vehicle mounted cherry picker.
Our combined IPAF OP: Mobile Vertical/Mobile Boom/Static Boom 3A 3B 1B programme includes vehicle mounted cherry pickers, static and mobile boom lifts.
