Lavendon Access Services is celebrating after picking up the ‘IPAF Contribution to Safe Working at Height – Rental Company’ Award at the prestigious IPAF Awards ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin on Thursday April 2nd. The award was open to all manufacturers, rental firms and end users, and recognises particular safety initiatives or commitments that have delivered significant improvements.

The IPAF Awards judging committee commented: "Lavendon Access Services has long taken a very proactive stance towards safety, both for its employees and its customers. It recently launched its ‘Safety Starts with You' campaign which included the appointment of a health and safety representative at every depot, monthly safety presentations and a focus on machine safety - plus a health and safety seminar for its main customers."

In winning the IPAF Contribution to Safe Working at Height – Rental Company Award, Lavendon Access Services consolidates its position as the UK’s leading operation in safe working practices. ‘Safety Starts with You’ introduced an innovative, common approach for Health & Safety across all 45 branches that make up the Nationwide Platforms and Panther brands. ‘TechX’ was also established in 2008, setting new standards across all UK depots in a number of key areas, including engineering and equipment maintenance, environmental management, procurement, housekeeping and Health & Safety.

Accepting the award, UK Chief Executive Andy Wright believes that as the market leader, Lavendon Access Services has a duty to continue improving Health & Safety awareness and standards: "If we lead the powered access industry in numbers, then we must also lead it in safety standards. This award recognises the focus and 100% commitment that Lavendon Access Services has towards Health & Safety."
