new S-125 boom is pictured working at a Premier League

Boom
lifts in Nationwide's powered access rental fleet are now
reaching even higher, following the companyıs first purchase
of a Genie boom with a platform height of 125 feet.
Nationwide
Director of Operations Tommy Graham said: "The Genie
S-125 also has an industry-leading outreach of 80 feet so
it is an extremely versatile machine. We have identified
a strong demand for this machine for major steelwork projects
where heavier truck-mounted units may not be suitable.
"These
projects could include the construction of new stands at
football grounds, refurbishment of a sports stadium or construction
and maintenance work at theme parks. Our first S-125 went
straight out on hire and we are now planning to add further
ones to the fleet," he added.
The
S-125's innovative four-wheel steer feature, which includes
front, rear, crab and co-ordinated steer functions, provides
manoeuvrability unsurpassed by any machine in the 80 foot
and above range.
As
the operator sees a need to switch steering modes whilst
manoeuvring, he simply pushes a selection button and the
control system automatically adjusts the wheel position
to match the selected mode as the operator continues to
drive. This feature, combined with a maximum steer angle
of 38 degrees, gives a turning radius and manoeuvrability
that sets new industry standards.
