Nationwide Access was acquired by Lavendon Group plc in 1992 and has expanded rapidly through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
The first acquisition was Access Rental Ltd whose business was integrated into Nationwide Access’ activities in 1993 and a further landmark in the company's development was the setting up of the Nationwide Skylift division in 1996 to operate a fleet of truck mounted hydraulic access platforms.
Acquisitions continued with the following access companies being integrated into Nationwide Access – Diamond Platforms, Lex Access and Wizard Workspace in 1997, 2000 and 2007 respectively.
The Platform Company was acquired by Lavendon Group in 2008.
The company was renamed from Mitie Powered Access after a buyout by the management team in 2002. A further acquisition followed in 2003 with the purchase of the Meek Group Ltd.
The Platform Company is renowned for its specialist range of access equipment and its customer service excellence.
Today, Nationwide Platforms, as part of Lavendon Access Services, offers 9,000 machines to their customers, via a national network of 28 depots.
