First Aid Appointed Person Training

The First Aid Appointed Person Programme is designed for delegates whose employment requires them to manage a medical situation until help arrives. Alternatively, where an employer’s assessment of first aid identifies that a first aider is not necessary, the minimum requirement is that they appoint a person to take charge of first aid facilities and emergency arrangements.

Course length: 1 full day

Course objective

To provide delegates with the ability to undertake basic life support and emergency procedures in the event of an accident or injury, until professional aid arrives.

• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Heart attacks
• Shock
• Bleeding
• Electrical injuries
• Burns
• Choking/asthma
• Poisoning
• Customer specific requirements

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
• Work more safely to minimise risks to themselves and others
• Review safety management arrangements in place and their effectiveness
• Understand and appreciate the safety and legal implications of management actions relating to Health & Safety
• Play a key role in the development of safety management systems and a safer working culture for your organisation
