SkyClad Materials Handling Attachment -

SkyClad Materials Handling Attachment

For the fast and safe installation of horizontal wall panels, SkyClad fits to most large decked diesel scissor lifts and installs panels up to 250kg in weight and 8 metres plus in length. Hydraulic arms lift the panels into position thereby eliminating manual handling. Batches of lighter panels can be installed in one visit before re-loading in contrast to "one-panel-at-a-time" methods.

A number of panels may be loaded onto the loading section of SkyClad using a forklift or telehandler, the only limitation on the quantity of panels in the batch being lift capacity of the underlying scissor lift and the weight of the individual panels.

The top panel is slid across onto the arms avoiding heavy manual handling; this is then lowered hydraulically to working height.

Two low-friction glide pads are pushed out to rest on the lip of the previous panel. Each has an integral vacuum attachment that locks on to the previous panel giving the lift stability, and ensuring that the panel being installed cannot fall to ground.

The operator then uses the hand controller to raise the hydraulic arms and position the panel easily and safely.

1. Speed: Batches of panels - load a batch, not “one at a time”
2. Speed: No fatigue - hydraulic arms take the strain
3. Safety: No weight on handrails - weight taken correctly by scissor pack
4. Safety: No manual handling - sliding not lifting
5. Safety: Stability vacuum - stable platform /panel can’t fall to ground
6. Cost: Less panel damage - a controlled operation
