Key pads can be fitted to machines to minimise theft, unauthorised use of the machine and downtime due to machine not being charged. The key pads are programmable and weatherproof. Request a key pad when you place your order.

IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) strongly recommend that a full body safety harness with an adjustable lanyard (used to provide work restraint and adjusted to be as short as possible) is used when working from a boom type MEWP or vehicle mounted boom.

This safety harness and lanyard kit has been designed and tested as a Work Restraint System; this means that it can be used to limit your freedom of movement to prevent you falling. NB: The adjustable work restraint lanyard cannot be used to arrest a fall.

The standard harness is designed to fit average sized workers and the lanyard is suitable for any size and weight of person. However, it is essential that you ensure your harness fits you correctly. When using machines for painting and decorating some form of protection should always be used to minimise the likelihood of paint overspray and to ensure that safety decals and operating instruction do not get obscured.

Barrier wax can be applied to safeguard machines against paint damage. The machine can be covered in a barrier wax film to protect against light overspray. Under normal conditions the wax will last for two weeks and is removed when the machine returns from hire.

We can offer a large fleet of diesel boom lifts fitted with Earth Straps that conform to the National Grid specification. This continual safety link running from the platform to the ground safely deflects electric currents, protecting both the machine and its operator from electrocution. Many site operators request earth bonding if the machine is to be used near live electrical apparatus in locations such as sub stations, power stations and live overhead cables.

Chalwyn valves can be attached to a diesel engine air intake system. The valve is designed to safely shutdown the engine in the event of external vapours or gasses being sucked into the engine through the air intake. In areas where there is a chance of vapour ignition a chalwyn valve will normally be specified by the site owner.

Typical uses are in Petrochemical plants and refineries including refurbishment of petrol station forecourts. The valve can be fitted to all diesel scissor lift and boom lifts. We require a minimum
of 48 hours notice to fit the chalwyn valve.

Spark Arrestors are attached to the exhaust system of diesel machines to eliminate sparks from exiting the exhaust. Spark Arrestors are usually specified by the site contractor or operator and are typically required on petrol station refurbishments, petrochemical plant works and refineries. Spark Arrestors can be fitted on request, but must be fitted before the machine reaches site. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required prior to delivery.
