The Technical Guidance Note on Safety Harnesses in Mobile Elevating Work Platforms was issued by the Powered Access Interest Group, a joint committee of the International Powered Access Federation and the Construction Plant-Hire Association. The guidance identifies the platforms that safety harnesses would be applicable to.

The HSE have produced a leaflet that is mainly aimed at employers who are responsible for the use of fall arrest equipment, incorporating energy-absorbing lanyards made from webbing. Relating to the Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 1992, this guide gives advice on inspecting equipment that is to provide protection against falls from height. The third document is an in-depth Specialist Inspector Report (no. 59) of the Issues Surrounding the Failure of an Energy Absorbing Lanyard and looks at the issues surrounding the failure of an energy absorbing lanyard in the Republic of Ireland. The HSE's Technology Division undertook an investigation into the incident and through reviewing information and advice the document provides a number of recommendations as well as examining areas for further research.
