Brief:

  • Client required us to provide machines and service that could support the £50m refurbishment of a major UK tunnel.
  • Working at height took place next to the A1 road.
  • Fluid spillage from machines was not acceptable.
  • 24/7 operation.
  • Previous powered access supplier removed after very poor Health and Safety performance.

Location: Hatfield Tunnel, Hatfield.

Client: Balfour Beatty.

Our Response:

  • We conducted a survey of the site
  • 24/7 service level was agreed
  • Engineer attended site twice per week
