Brief:

  • To Develop a bespoke powered access management project for SIS Live, BBC Sport and TV Asahi
  • Guaranteed availability of high quality equipment supported by 24/7 service backup
  • Provide specialist truck mounts with tailor made camera cages and camera pods

Location: The British Open Golf Championship

Client: SIS Live/BBC Sport/TV Asahi - value £350m

Our Response:

  • We provided event and project Management in liaison with Championship organisers Royal & Ancient, as well as SIS Live and BBC Sport
  • Bespoke circular cages fitted to add to broadcasting coverage of course with minimal equipment
  • We provided an on-site Project Manager to arrange sensitive access over course with temporary roadway supplier
  • We also provided an engineer on location for the 7 days of the project
  • The truck mounted platforms on hire included IPAF Trained Operators to manage the usage of the machines

Result:

  • Zero downtime for worldwide TV transmission
  • A reduction in ‘on course’ machinery with circular camera cages that were able to cover multiple holes. This resulted in an estimated saving of £15K.
