Brief:
- To Develop a bespoke powered access management project for SIS Live, BBC Sport and TV Asahi
- Guaranteed availability of high quality equipment supported by 24/7 service backup
- Provide specialist truck mounts with tailor made camera cages and camera pods
Location: The British Open Golf Championship
Client: SIS Live/BBC Sport/TV Asahi - value £350m
Our Response:
- We provided event and project Management in liaison with Championship organisers Royal & Ancient, as well as SIS Live and BBC Sport
- Bespoke circular cages fitted to add to broadcasting coverage of course with minimal equipment
- We provided an on-site Project Manager to arrange sensitive access over course with temporary roadway supplier
- We also provided an engineer on location for the 7 days of the project
- The truck mounted platforms on hire included IPAF Trained Operators to manage the usage of the machines
Result:
- Zero downtime for worldwide TV transmission
- A reduction in ‘on course’ machinery with circular camera cages that were able to cover multiple holes. This resulted in an estimated saving of £15K.
