Health and Safety risks associated with the project:
- The installation of the 2.5 metre wide ducting at 22 metres height within confined working areas
- The risk of entrapment within confined working areas at height
- The risks posed by material handling within booms and scissors at height
Our response:
- Our Glasgow Depot held an open day for Sir Robert McAlpine and sub-contractors to demonstrate safety attachments
- Further in-depth consultation was provided to Sir Robert McAlpine and sub-contractors to develop bespoke solutions
- Further on site demonstrations and Tool Box Talks were also provided
Result:
- Reduced risk of entrapment with fitted safety solution
- Reduced material handling risk with fitted Material Handling Attachments (MHAs).
- Bespoke solution provided for the installation of the problematic ducting.
- Galloway Group won their contract on the basis of including safety attachments within their tender
